Technology

INPASA has a priority, the production of clean and renewable energies; in order to attain this goal the company directs the investments to processes with the most advanced automation and control technology (Rockwell - USA).

In all the stages of the production process there is a conscious concern about the correct reuse and disposal of wastes. The more prominent details are:

  • Recovery of alcohol dragged from carbonic gas during the fermentation process through a complex system of gas washing (Scrubber KATZEN), increasing the process efficiency and eliminating the emission in the atmosphere;
  • Recovery the mass from the distilled wort through modern dryers, generating a residual highly nutritive by-product, used to animal feeding;
  • Burning of the bagasse, from sugar cane, to feed a boiler with high performance technology that generates sufficient team to feed the process. Additionally to the use of generators to produce electric energy;
  • All liquid wastes from the process (stillage, washing waters and others) are pumped and dispersed over the sugar cane field in a process called “fertigation”, resulting in a useful destination to the wastes, as well as reducing the expenditures on chemical fertilizer considerably.

The process was elaborated to optimize all thermal changes. To increase the efficiency and rational use of water, there are new and modern equipments, as cooling towers, ETA, Reverse Osmosis GE in addition to highly efficient heat exchangers. Therefore, by the reuse, the total volume used during the operations is significantly minimized.

The distillation columns were designed and built with most advanced technology, generating significant savings of steam per unit of produced ethanol. While the sugar factory was built with the most advanced technology and all machines are made of stainless steel, granting high quality in the production of white sugar for food.
